Multiple operations

In multiple operations sequences more than one operation may be applied to each term. There may also be different operations applied to separate terms depending on their position in the sequence.

Example 1

Answer:24

Explanation: Plus five, and then minus three.

Example 2

{10, 20, 15, 25, 20, 30, ?}

Answer: 25

Explanation: The second term is greater than the first term by 10, while the third term is less than the second term by 5.

1. {5106, 1704, 570, 192, 66, ?, ?}

Answer: 24 and 10

Explanation: Divide by 3 and add two.



2. {50, 49, 46, 45, ?, 41, 38, 37, 34, 33,?}

Answer: 42, 30

Explanation: Subtract one from one term, and then three from the next.


3. {1, 5, 11, 15, 31, ?, 71, 75, 151, 155, ?}

Answer: 35, 311

Explanation: For each term add four, then double and add one.


4. {4, 4, 5, 7, 10, 14, 15, ?, 28, 36, 45, ?}

Answer: 21, 55.

Explanation: Add numbers from zero to ten consecutively, to each successive term.


5. {1, 2, 4, 6, 12, ?, 30, 34, 68, 73, 146, 152, ?}

Answer:15 and 304

Explanation: Add one and then double. Add two, and then double ...
