I thought the solution for that problem is to count the occurrences of each shape. And to choose the option that makes all shapes appear the same number of times without taking into account shape size. The actual solution tends to gave a different interpretation

They combine column-wise, but disappear if duplicated
Check column by column instead of the usual rows!
