Each shape's position on the sub-matrix indicates its value. These 3 values (one for each column) must equal 15. The values are assigned top-bottom, left to right, from 1-9 (indicating each index of the sub-matrix), like so:

Example: Look at the first row's square positions. 3 + 7 + 5 = 15
