If it doesn’t have to opposite points. It can’t be counted as a side. And if it can’t be counted as a side it has no value.
Once you know that,
column 1 x column 2 = column 3
multiply the first 2 shapes in the first 2 rows sides, then find your answer. Ex. triangle=3x triangle=3=9 or the hexagon.
Count the sides of the shapes in columns 1 and 2, and then multiply to find out the column 3 sides.
