Monsters 1, 2 and 4 are on the same side of the tape. Apparently, they don't count monster 1 in the answer, as they said "how many monsters and creatures are on the same side of the tape as monster 1," not " how many monsters and creatures, including 1, are on the same side of the tape as monster 1?" Definitely not a well-worded question.

Monsters 1, 2 and 4 are on the same side of the tape. Apparently, they don't count monster 1 in the answer, as they said "how many monsters and creatures are on the same side of the tape as monster 1," not " how many monsters and creatures, including 1, are on the same side of the tape as monster 1?" Definitely not a well-worded question.
